For those that have been reading my blogs for a while you will know of my interest in music (see my 7 things meme). A few weeks ago I was sent this link to a virtual tour site for CBGB's. CBGB's is a well known and legendary club in New York where punk and hardcore bands played many a notorious show. One of my dreams was to get to CBGBs, but sadly it due to it's ongoing dispute over rent rising, it closed at the end of '06.
So this just blew me away - a virtual tour where I was able to see more than just the photos! I know it's not quite like being there - but it's still pretty amazing! Click on the pic below to check it out.

I thought that there was a plan to ship CBGB's in its entirety to a Casino or to a site elsewhere and they re-create it? The virtual tour is extremely cool but some of the graffiti you have to doubt "Richard Hell loves this stage?" well that might be true but when did it get written? And the condition of the place, how on earth did the US equivalent of OSH not close it down?

The big question is, who would you have liked to have seen there?
Easy question... oh I think!!?? First and biggest group I would have wanted to see there are Sick Of It All! That would have been awesome... then take your pick of some of NY/USA's best hardcore... VOD, Madball and more. What about you?
